One
of the Moroccan scholars
and Imam [leader] of the scholars of
"Al-Hadith" in his
era
is al-Qady Ayad. He was an encyclopedia in Arab's stories, ancestors
and wars. It is almost now nine centuries, since he passed away. For
more information about such a great scholar, you can refer to a book
written by al-Zarkaly and entitled 'al-Alam' (the celebrities)
Ayad has written a book which
is considered one of the most important religious references that
talk about prophet Mohamed [PPBUH] in
terms of his attributes, characteristics and descriptions. This book
is entitled al-Shifa' [healing
by defining the rights of al-Mostafa].
We intend here to give you some of its lines.
This great scholar talked in such lines about the
glorification of the beloved Mohamed [PPBUH]
as Allah swears by his life. He [AAH]
said:
Allah says in the Holy Quran:
[By
thy life, these too in
their
mad
intoxication are wandering in distraction] (Al-Hijr,
15:72). The
People of Interpretation agree that it is an oath made by Allah
and it is made
by the life
time
of prophet Mohammad [PPBUH]. This oath
is an utmost honor and glorification to prophet Mohamed [PPBUH].
Ibn
cAbbas said: "Allah has not created a soul that is
dearer or more honorable to Him than prophet Mohamed
[PPBUH].
I have never heard that Allah swore
by anyone's life but Mohammad as he is Allah's
most honorable creature". Abu Eljawza'
also. said: Allah has never sworn by anyone's life as by
Mohamed's.
Allah
says: [Ya
Sin. By the Quran, full of Wisdom].
(Ya-Sin 36:1,2).
Interpreters disagree on the meaning of
Ya-Sin.
Abu Mohamed
Meky said that Ibn
cAbbas narrated that
prophet Mohamed said: (I
have ten names,
given to me by Allah)
and he
mentioned that
Taha and
Ya-Sin
are two of these names.
Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Salami
narrated that Jacfar
al-Sadek interpreted it as "Allah
addressed His prophet by
the word Master".
Ibn
cAbbas
said that
"Ya-Sin" is "You
Human"
and He meant Mohammad
by Human, and it is an
oath". Al-Zajjaj
said "it means
You Mohamed, You
Man,
or You Human".
Ibn el-Hanifia believed
that it means
"You
Mohamed". Ibn Kacb
said "Ya-Sin is an oath made by Allah two
thousand years before He created the land
or the sky;
[You
Mohammad, thou art indeed one of the Messengers].
Ya-Sin is followed by
By
[by the
Quran, full you wisdom, thou art indeed one of the Messengers]
(Ya-Sin 36:2,3)..
Ibn Abbas said "If we assume that Ya-Sin
is a name for prophet Mohamed and that it is an oath, then it is a
glorification to prophet Mohamed. What proves that it is an oath is
its conjunction
to the other oath. Even
if it is just a call, not an oath,
then the other oath performed this
function and proved his message and testified to
his right guidance. Allah swore by
prophet's name and the Holy Quran that prophet Mohamed is one of the
Messengers who is sent to people and who is on a straight path. This
path is without detours and never strays from truth".
El-Naqash said "Allah has never sworn to any of His Messengers by
the Message in His Holy Book but Mohamed
[PPBUH],
and this is a glorification also if we considered
addressing him as the Master.
Ibn
cAbbas
[AAH] mentioned that
the prophet [PPBUH] said:
(I
am the master of Adam's sons and that is no
pride
Allah says [Nay,
but I do swear by this city- And thou art dwelling in this city]
(al-Balad
90:1,2).
This
verse is interpreted by Mekki as "I
(Allah) will not swear by this city after you leave it, Mohamed".
The word "Nay" is thought to be extra, so the verse means "I (Allah)
swear by this city as long as you live in it".
The city means
Ibn Ata'
interprets [And by this
Town of Security]
(al-Tin
95:4) by
saying "Allah secured this city because prophet Mohamed lives in it,
as he is safe wherever he is". Allah also says [And I
swear by the
begetter and whom he begot]
(al-Balad 36:4).
It is more general to say that Allah means Adam by the begetter.
And who said that Allah means Ibrahim
[PBUH]
then his son would be
prophet Mohamed [PPBUH].
Therefore, al-Balad chapter includes
swearing by prophet Mohamed in two places.
Allah says [Alif
Lam Mim, This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it]
(al-Baqarah
1:1,2). Ibn
cAbbas said that those three
letters are an oath made by Allah
and there were also other interpretations by him and by others.
For example, Sahl ibn Abdallah
al-Tastory said
that Alif is Allah, Lam is
Jibril and Mim is prophet Mohammad.
Al-Samriqandy said the same, although he
did not refer to Sahl. He interpreted it as Allah
has sent Jibril
to Mohamed with a perfect Quran in which there is no doubt
about it. On the other hand it could be an
oath that the Qur'an is great, no doubt about it, which in turn is a
virtue for Mohammad as the Qur'an gave him his name. Allah says [Qaf- By the glorious Qur’an] (Qaf 50:1).Ibn Ata’ said “God swears by the power of his beloved Mohamed's heart which stood the speech and the watching of Allah -he means in Israa'- without being affected because of its high status -this is because in Arabic the letter 'Qaf' is the first letter of 'Qalb' which means Heart. It is also, said that Qaf is a name for Quran, a name for Allah, a name for a mountain surrounding the earth, and also other meanings. Gacfar ibn Mohamed interpreted [By the star when it falls] (Al-Najm 53:1) as referring to Mohamed. He said that the star is referring to the heart of the prophet Mohammad [PPBUH]. The word 'hawa', which meant falls in Arabic, has another meaning in Arabic which is expanding from lights; also that he left everything but Allah. Ibn Ata' interpreted the Dawn in [By the Dawn, And the Ten Nights] (Al-Fajr 89:1,2) as prophet Mohammad, as he outburst with faith.
