'My Loved ones study my words with each other' (qasida 1:7)

This is the motto for this section, which is for the meanings that come out of the brothers and sisters group studies [Tadarus].

You can find all special expressions in the Glossary. We need your comments to develop this site for you.

The Brotherhood

[My sons, refrain, as being ungrateful for our grace

will not benefit you, and brotherhood is the thanks of our grace] 35/51

The study in the previous issue was about "love". In this issue we preferred to have the study be about "brotherhood" which is one of the most important fruits of love, rather it is the greatest one. We can say it is the price of victory and triumph.

[My sons refrain]: is an address from the merciful father to his sons to refrain from being ungrateful for the grace and avoid that totally. This matter is so important to understand and avoided. But firstly there is a question, what is this grace? what is meant by "being ungrateful"; is it "direct disbelief" or what?

The grace according to the book of Allah, Qur'an, is two graces:

The first grace is in the worldly life, [And remember Allah's grace unto you when you were enemies then Allah put the affection among your hearts, so that you became brothers by His grace] Aal-Imran 3:103. This is the grace of love after the enmity, about this ibn Kathir said:

This context was about al-Aws and al-Khazraj who had many wars between them and a strong enmity in the ignorance era, before Islam. Lots of fighting and calumniation that lasted long between them because of that enmity and rancor. However, when Allah came with Islam came, many of them embraced it then they became brothers and loved one another with the Majesty of Allah. They became connected for the sake of Allah and cooperating for the righteousness and piety. Allah said [He it is, Who supported you with His victory and the believers ¤ and He put affection among their hearts. Not if you had spent all that is in the earth, couldn you have produced affection among their hearts. However, Allah did put the affection amongst them. For He is the All-Mighty and All-Wise] Al-Anfal 8:62-63. The saying of Ibn Kathir ended.

The second grace is in the hereafter [and You were at the brink of a pit of fire then, He saved you from it] Aal-Imran 3:103, and this is a survivor in the hereafter.

So, love in the worldly life is a survivor in the hereafter. However, the enmity, Allah forbid, is annihilation in the hereafter. So let's preserve the grace of love in the worldly life to win the survivor in the hereafter. In some interpretations such as, sayydi ibn 'Agibah, [AAH] and all Imams that we mentioned and will, says [And remember Allah's grace unto you] which includes the right guidance to Islam that leads to the affection and the demise of rancor. [when you were enemies] in the ignorance era, before Islam, and killing each other. [then Allah put the affection among your hearts] by Islam [so that you became brothers by His grace] loving one another and gathering together as brothers in Allah. The Prophet[PPBUH] said (Do not envy one another. Do not hate one another. Do not give each other your backs. And be brothers and servants of Allah. A Muslim is the brother of the Muslim, he does not oppress him nor let him down).

It is narrated that al-Aws and al-Khazraj were brothers but enmity was excited between their sons, and the war between them lasted longer than one hundred and twenty years, untill Allah suppressed it by Islam and produced affection amongst them by the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH], thus was that verse revealed about them.

The path of Islam and the path of Tariqa  is a blessing. Also the Tariqa includes Islam, Iman [Faith] and Ihsan [perfection]. Our shiekh has put his guarantied path in his poems. Here we are trying to understand an important thing! Is there any muslim who objects to the path of Islam? Certainly not! Allah forbid a thousand times! And is there a member of Tariqa who objects to the path of Tariqa? Allah forbid a thousand of a thousand times! so what is the meaning of being ungrateful?

The case is that the path calls for love, affection and brotherhood, and so thanking the grace requires us to work with it by being brothers, love each other, have affection to one another, do not envy each other, do not hate each other, do not argue with each other and be servants of Allah and brothers. Doing otherwise would be ungrateful, may Allah protect us from that.

To clarify this subject more, we find our sheikh [AAH] saying about the group study:

[whoever knocks the door of words asking for our aid

He won't find except our giving and it is generous] 47/7

So he who asks to learn the meaning of his path [AAH], he will not find except the gifts and generosity, however this is conditioned:

[If you gathered with love and mercy,

be certain of connection as Allah is my donor] 37/21

[and you gather together without stubbornness

whenever its meanings become obscure for me to give you the solution] 78/21

[and I know what is inside the coffers of secrets

but whoever becomes proud, will not taste any of it] 9/12

After that he [AAH] said:

[And live thankful in the blessing of gifts

To survive through the deadly trials] 39/31

So make these meanings as a guide to your deeds and behaviour and fraternize with it. Thus your brotherhood will be the gratitude for the grace. So what is the use of this gratitude?  After we are grateful he will provide us with the meanings that will give us love and affiction for each other, and will be a cause for surviving the deadly trials then it will be a cause for victory over the most demonized enemies which are: the subjectivity, the worldly life , the self and Satan. Thus any one gets controlled by one of these enemies will never have victory over it unless Allah grants him victory. Imam Fakhreddin [AAH] says:

[And if you are thankful, after that, I will give you more

victory, as the penetrating arrows are mine] 15/17

May Allah, Almighty, gives us victory and supports us with his supporting, may He be pleased with him and all of us with him. Prayers be upon sayyduna Muhammed and all his kinship and companions.

And until we meet again with another pearl from the pearls of Sharab al-Wasl, peace, blessing and mercy be upon you.
