Ahmed’s Companions

- One of the miraculous acts of Abu-Bakr [AAH] is that when his funeral was carried to the tomb’s door of Prophet Mohammad [PPBUH] and they said: 'Peace be upon you Allah’s Messenger! This is Abu-Bakr at the door', the tomb’s door was opened and a voice was heard from the inside  saying "bring the beloved to the beloved one".

- And as for 'Umar [AAH], he had many miraculous acts. One day, he sent an army led by a man named Sareyah ibn al-Hasin. Then one Friday, while 'Umar [AAH] was standing on the pulpit to give the Friday sermon, he shouted 'O Sareyah! the mountain! the mountain!'. Ali [AHHF] said that he noted and wrote the date of that words. When the army advance came back, he said: 'O prince of the faithfuls ('Umar), we invaded on Friday at the time of the sermon and we were defeated, but suddenly we heard a voice calling 'O Sareyah, the mountain, the mountain'. So we gave our back to the mountain and Allah conquered the infidels and we won great benefits because of that voice. One teller said that it was a miracle of Mohammad [PPBUH] because the Prophet once said to Abu-Bakr and Umar: (You two are to me as hearing and sight). And since Umar was the sight to Mohammad [PPBUH]. It was easy for him to see his army from that great far distance.

The second miraculous act was that during the ignorance era the river Nile in Egypt used to stop once a year and would not flow again unless one beautiful girl is thrown in it. But when Islam came, Amr ibn al-'Aas wrote to 'Umar about this incidence. 'Umar wrote back on a piece of pottery 'O Nile, if you flow by order of Allah, then flow, but if you flow by your own order, then we don’t need you'. And this piece of pottery was then thrown in the Nile, and it never stopped ever after.

The third miraculous act was when an earthquake struck al-Medina, so 'Umar [AAH] hit the ground with his stick and said 'Settle down by Allah’s will' and al-Medina was never hit by an earthquake after that.

The fourth one was when a fire occurred in some houses in al-Medina, Umar wrote on a piece of pottery: 'O fire, settle down by Allah’s will' and it was thrown into the fire and the fire stopped immediately.

The fifth one was when a messenger from the king of Byzantium (Rome) came looking for 'Umar’s house thinking it would be a palace, but people told him that 'Umar does not have a palace or such, instead you will find him in the dessert preparing  milk. When the king’s messenger went to 'Umar in the dessert and found him sleeping on the dusty ground, he was surprised and said: 'People in the East and West fear this person and he is at this condition' and he said to himself: 'I found him all by himself. I can just kill him and get rid of him' and when he raised his sword, he suddenly saw two lions which Allah brought out of the ground and were coming to him. He got so afraid that he dropped his sword, then 'Umar woke up and noticed him but he did not see this accident. Umar asked him about what happened. The messenger told him what happened and immediately converted to Islam.

Many of Umar’s miraculous acts were narrated individually, but here is what was known by everyone. Although he kept himself away from anything sweet in this world and away from any mannerism or intimidations, he controlled the East and West and turned kingdoms and states upside down. If you searched in the history books you will never find this happening to  anyone since Adam’s era until now, because as much as he kept away from any preciosity, he was able to run all those policies. No doubt that this has been the greatest miraculous act of Umar [AAH].

- As for Osman [AAH], it was narrated by Annas that: 'I was once walking down the street and I looked at a woman, then I went to Osman who asked me: why am I seeing adultery signs showing on you? I asked: Is this a revelation after the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH]? He said: No, its only an honest physiognomy'.

The second incidence was when Osman [AAH] was stabbed with the sword, the first blood drop of his was dropped on the Qur'an verse where Allah's words: [Allah will suffice you against them, and He is the All-Hearer and the All-Knoweable] (al-Baqarah 2:137)

The third incidence was when a man named Gahgaha Al-Ghafary took Osman’s stick and broke it on his knee, his knee got a very fast deteriorating disease.

- As for Ali [AHHF], it was narrated that one of his beloveds, who was a black slave, stole something and was then brought to Ali [AHHF], and Ali asked him: 'Did you steal?' the man replied: 'Yes' so Ali cut off his hand for what he did (as Islam Shari'a says) and when he went out, he met Salman al-Faresey and ibn Al-Karra who asked him: 'Who cut your hand?' and the black slave said: 'It was the Prince of the faithfuls, the master of the Muslims, the son-in-law of Prophet Mohamed [PPBUH], and the husband of Fatma [AAH]'. Ibn Al-Karra wonderingly said: 'He cut off your hand and you are praising him!', the man replied: 'And why not? He cut my hand for a true reason and saved me from hell!'. Salman Al-Faresey told Ali [AHHF] about what the black man said, so Ali called for him and put the cut hand on the man’s arm and covered it with a handkerchief and said his prayers, then a voice from the sky was heard saying 'take the cover off the hand'. When the man's hand was uncovered, it was healed with Allah's will and a merciful act.
