The Wind of Saba
[The
wind of Saba breathed in
the heart of an
infatuated
how I
wonder at a drink with
a scorching wind]
(qasida
25:25)
This verse is
one of the pearls
of Imam Fakhraddin's,
and whoever deeply
considers it is most likely to win a
guiding meaning that will make him happy
in this world and the hereafter.
Saba's meaning in the Arabic language
dictionary means somekind of wind
and in the Sufi terms (according to the book of
signs by Qashani) it means what
comes from the spiritual side and
the word Saba is
used as a metaphor for the gifts
of proximity that is refered
to in the Prophet's
saying [PPBUH]:
(You have gifts in the days of your
time, so get
exposed to them)
narrated by al-Hakim, Ibn Abdel
Bar, and al-Tabarani
and
He [PPBUH]
also said: (I
was given victory by
the wind of Saba and people of A'ad
were perished by Dabour [zephyr]
wind). This
indicates that Saba is the wind of acceptance and Dabour is the wind
of rejection. [end of
quote from Qashani]
So, if you
find the meanings that
gets you closer to
Allah, you have
got the Saba wind, but if you
find rejection from the people of
denial, then this will be
the Dabour
wind driving them
away to the cave of their ignorance and they will not be able to
find the right way till they see it with their own eyes at the end
of days. But, then it will be too late.
These meanings
will only be breathed
for the heart and soul of an
infatuated with the love of Allah and His
Messenger [PPBUH]. This breath, in Sufi terms, is just for the
prophets by the Holy Spirit or spiritually
breathed
for the saints. An example of this
type of gifted breath is the book of
Imam Mohyi-addin who
swore
that he did not write any letter in his book 'Al-fotohat
al-Maccaya' without this kind of spiritual
breath
from Allah in his soul.
[from Sufi Terms by Imam Mohyi-addin]
We can see that
the
qasaid of
Imam
Fakhraddin agree
with the words of Imam Mohyi-addin,
[The
wind of Saba breathed in
the heart of an
infatuated] as
the breath is always in the inner soul or the hearts.
This wind is the
wine of meanings as Imam
Fakhraddin said:
[how I
wonder at a drink],
and this drink is the
wine of meanings.
Allah said in the Holy Quran: [as
they are given to drink a nectar, a wine free of any impurities,
sealed, in its vessel, none other than them breaking its seal]
(al-Mutaffifin 83:25)
and this nectar is the
wine prepared for the
dutiful reverent people in
heaven. It is
sealed with the seal of Shari'a,
in order for this
shari'a to be combined with the spiritual truth, then we will be
protected from debauchery and atheism. As the souls drink from the
wine
of love, then the
souls and the hearts will be in harmony, and love and
brotherhood will prevail between those who
seek these
truth meanings of Shari'a which we find in
the books of the
righteous people. You may also see the
meaning of this Qur'anic verse in 'the interpretation of Qur'an by
Imam Mohyi-addin'.
May Allah grant us
the exposure to the
gifts of meanings that nurture the hearts and
the souls.
What a wonder
at this drink that has a
scorching wind that burns all the ignorance it
finds in the heart and lets the meanings drive us to the highland of
Allah-fearing. This will be the thriving our sheikh [AAH]
wanted for us, when he said:
[He will
thrive whoever walks to the highland of God-fearingness
and he has lost
whoever did not win this walking]
(qasida 6:16)
So,
this good wind of meanings spreads its perfume
from the pleats of Imam
Fakhraddin
[AAH].
From the smell of this perfume, the Imam's infatuated beloveds will
be guided to these meanings. In this regard, the Imam [AAH]
said:
[The Saba
from Nagd {the highland near Medina} spreads its perfume
and its
fragrance is smelled by he who tastes my passion]
(qasida 1:80)
This
highland of Allah-fearing is the way to Allah
which you can smell its perfume from the garden of Imam
Fakhraddin
[AAH] and it is the
Saba, as he said:
[It is the
fragrance in my garden
whoever
smells it will find it to be the Saba]
(qasida 11:25)
This fragrance
is the power of smell and the spread of the Musk smell out of the
wine of meanings. How great Imam
Fakhraddin
[AAH] is when he
said:
[From my
drinking taste I gave my beloveds to drink
the
wine of meanings, so good it shows]
(qasida 25:19)
Oh Allah, grant us
the fragrance of
our Imam, his love, and
his wine
of meanings and make him the secret of our happiness in this world and
in the hereafter life.
Prayers & Peace be upon our master Mohammad,
his family and Companions
