the Prophet - Companions - People of Allah - Barriers

'The Barriers from Al-Mohaimen are four' (qasida 5:16)

This is the motto of this section, which is for talking about the barriers that cuts off the Moslems' relations with Allah [Al-Mohaimen which is a name of Allah that means the Dominant who controls everything]. We need to know these barriers in order for us to be able to avoid or rectify them in our path to Allah.

This section started with a question from one of our viewers, which he sent to the Discussion page. We then found out that it is a big issue that needs more extensive discussion. We found a book made out of a research conducted by a group of brothers which took them 2 years to complete. This book discusses this subject extensively from the point of view of sayyidi Fakhraddin because it was made with the help of some of his older companions. The book's title is "al-Morshid al-Wagis" which means [the summarized guide].

You can find all special expressions in the Glossary. We need your comments to develop this site for you.

Kingdom of Heart and Kingdom of Soul

Frequent Dhikr will be attained only when the seeker moves from Dhikr of the tongue to Dhikr of the heart to Dhikr of the soul and finally to al-Istilam - i.e. his whole body and soul do Dhikr.  This is the only way to be like Prophet Mohammad [PPBUH] in his manners and deeds. So in order to purify the body first then purify the soul, we have to follow Him [PPBUH]. We have to follow Him in His deeds, which are countless, especially because he denied the faith of those who do like not follow Him; (I swear, one is not faithful, unless he loves to do what I came with). Note that Allah associates following the Prophet Mohammad with Dhikr in: [Verily you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent model, for him whot wants "Allah" and the Last Day and who does Dhikr Allah much] al-Ahzab 33:21It is strange; that the love of Allah and Prophet Mohammad is an obligation on every Muslim, yet, this love cannot be obtained, bought, or sold. It cannot be attained by money, trick, or circumstance. It is only attained through getting close to Allah by following the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH]’s deeds, which mean the supererogatory, not just the obligation. This is confirmed by a divine speech: [I declare war on those who harm My saints. Doing My obligations is the best thing My slave can do to get closer Me. My slave keeps doing supererogatory, until I love him. When I love him, I will be his ears with which he hears, his eyes with which he sees, his hands with which he hits, and his legs with which he walks. I give him whatever he asks and protect him whenever he needs.  I never hesitate to do something but capturing the soul of a faithful slave who hates death and I hate offending him]. al-Bokhary from Abo-Hurairah, al-Hafez, Abo-en-Na'eim.

It is clear from this divine speech that performing obligations does not make Allah love us. Obligations are just a way of reminding and remembrance, not pure DhikrSupererogatory is what makes Allah love us, because they are the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH]’s deeds. Let’s go back now to explain the kingdom of the heart and the kingdom of the soul and who is their king. Allah says [Allah sets forth a parable: a man in him (belonging to) several partners, disagreeing with one another, and a man belonging wholly to one man. Are they both equal in condition? All praise belongs to Allah. But most of them know not] az-Zumor 39:29.  Who are those [several partners, disagreeing with one another]?  They are Satan, the worldly life, the self and their boss is subjectivity. The product of these partners is every bad deed a man commits. That is why Allah said: [in him] not "has" or "to him". These partners are in the kingdom of the heart, but we have to purify it from them. In order to do so, we have to make use of the king of the soul who resides in the right side of the chest. This king seeks Allah’s acceptance in all his deeds and seeks Allah's face in all situations. He does that by means of supererogatory and and extra obedience. It is meaningless to perform supererogatory without performing obligation, as obligation is the religion, so supererogatory will not even show without obligation. This king has three ministers: performing obligation, Dhikr and prayers on Prophet Mohammad [PPBUH]

It is important to do Dhikr of the name "Allah" in order for this king to become fearful, and thus, help you do the obligation. Allah says [True believers are only those whose hearts tremble when the name of Allah is mentioned (with Dhikr)] al-Anfal 8:2. Prayers on Prophet Mohammad [PPBUH] result in love whose product is following the Prophet in his characters, morals, and manners, as He says: (I have been sent to complete good manners). Allah promised in his Holy Book: [As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain on the straight path, the angels descend upon them, saying: Fear ye not, nor grieve; and receive good news of the paradise that you were promised ¤ We are your guardians in this life and in the Hereafter. And you will have therein what your souls desire, and you will have therein what you ask for ¤ A provision from the Most Forgiving, the Merciful] Fussilat 41:30-32. So it has to be this way: You start by saying the name "Allah" by the tongue, then get elevated to saying it by the heart, the state of plenty, and then by the soul in order for you to be on a straight path. When you are on the straight path, angels will descend upon you. Mawlana Fakhreddin said: There is an angel under the Throne who calls on his Lord, saying: "O my Lord, Master, and God! this man - and he specifies you with your name - has said Your name, from which you created me and utilized me for. He shared it with me. Note that when the angle specifies you with your name he relates you to your sheikh, as in these places you are called by your Imam's name. As Allah says in Qur'an: [the day when We will call every people with their Imam] al-Isra' 17:71. When the angle tells Allah what you did, He answers him [Go and help him!]. that is what is mentioned in Qur'an in the name of the angels [And we do not come down save by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs whatever is before us and whatever is behind us and whatever is between these; and your Lord is not forgetful] Maryam 19:64So when the Dhikr is complete and the path is straight, angles of the name Allah will descend. When the angels descend, the kingdom of soul is completed with its king, ministers and soldiers. At this time, quarrels and fights start between the king of the soul and the king of subjectivity, and of course, the king of the soul and his soldiers will be victorious; as Allah promised [And most surely Our soldiers alone shall be the victorious ones] as-Safat 37:173. [if  you help Allah, He will help you and will make firm your feet] Mohammad 47:7. The victory is for the name of Allah, and the angels possess the kingdom of the heart. If this explanation were different, then we would have to say that Allah was defeated and needs our help!! Which is against any reasoning. And it is true what has been said:

[And a slave has nothing to do with its ruling

so how can he judge anything having polytheism]

["If you help Allah He will help you" has been

revealed down, but we can not understand its reality]

[As God does not need our help

and all messengers and angels have came to say that]

[So leave it to its owner who brought it, and say

admitting that you can not understand, is understanding]

Allah said [Surely the kings, when they enter a town, ruin it and make the noblest of its people to be low, and thus they (always) do] an-Naml 27:34. Therefore, the king of subjectivity is conquered by obedience of the Prophet [PPBUH] and his followers.  Before, he was driving the man to the lowest of the low. Subjectivity has two faces: one looking for falsehood and the other asking for truth. Allah says [and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Dhikr and who follows his subjectivity (evil inclination), and his case exceeds all bounds] al-Kahf 18:28. He also says [And recite to them the story of him to whom We gave Our Signs (verses), but he withdraws himself from them; so Satan followed him up, and he became one of those who go astray ¤ And if We had pleased, We could have exalted him thereby; but he clung to the earth and followed his subjectivity (evil inclination). His parable therefore is like the parable of a thirsty dog; if you drive him away, he hangs out his tongue; and if you leave him, he hangs out his tongue. Such is the parable of the people who disbelieve in Our Signs (verses).  So tell them the story that they may ponder] al-A'raf 7:175-176. There are many verses and Hadith which warn us against following subjectivity (al-Hawa). So what is al-Hawa?
