One of the messengers with the firm will: Noah [PBUH] 2

He [PBUH] is the one with the rank of fear from Allah. That is why he told his nation to ask Allah for forgiveness: [And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving ¤ He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain ¤ and will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you gardens and will assign unto you rivers] Noah 71:10-12.

Asking for forgiveness and repentance from Allah Almighty, is from fear of Allah and that is why Allah gave him the greatness. That is a rule [greatness comes from fear]. Of course we are talking about the fear from Allah the creator not the creations. Allah said: [Who forsake their beds to cry unto their Lord in fear and hope, and spend of that We have bestowed on them] as-Sajdah 32:16. So the more you fear Allah the more He gives you greatness in the eyes of every creature around you. The Prophet [PPBUH] said: (He who wept of fear from Allah, will not enter into Hell until milk goes back into udder. And two will never group together: dust from Jihad for the sake of Allah and the smoke from Hell). at-Turmozy, al-Bayhaqy, and Imam Ahmed. Al-Bazzar narrated that the Prophet [PPBUH] said: (Whoever shivers from the fear of Allah, his sins will fall from him as the leaves fall from an old tree).

When Allah told sayyduna Noah [PBUH], he built the Ark and carried into it two couples of each species. He got four men believers with him on board: three of them had one daughter each with him, the forth had no children. Sayyduna Noah [PBUH] had four sons: three of them got on board, the forth and his mother; Alisa, refused to get on board. Noah's sons were: Sam, Ham, Yafeth, and Kan'an, and the forth one is the one who refused to get on board. Noah [PBUH] said to him: Get on board with us, and do not be with the miscreants. He answered: I will harbor on a mountain to preserve me from the water. Noah [PBUH] said: There is no preserver today from the act of Allah. The water and waves got stronger and higher, and the sky poured water like from the skin bags. Noah felt sorry when he saw his son fighting the waves and he asked Allah: [My Lord! Lo! my son is of my household! Surely Your promise is the truth and You are the Most Just of Judges] Houd 11:45. Allah said to him: [O Noah! Lo! he is not of your household; lo! he is of evil conduct] Houd 11:46.

Some people said in the interpretation of this verse that he was not a son of Noah but of his wife, and he was raised in Noah's house, so Noah became his father by raising him. Some people also said that he was illegitimate son, because Allah said he is of bad conduct. Some of them used the verse that said about the wives of Noah and Lout, that they betrayed there husbands. They forgot that adultery does not happen in the houses of the prophets, and the betrayal that Allah mentioned was a betrayal in religion, not in honor or dignity. I.e. when they were offered to believe in Allah, they refused and insisted on their fathers and their people's religions. The other opinion is that his bad conduct is his refusal to get on board with his father, because the condition that can make him catch up with his father is his belief. I.e. he has to have same faith as his father, even if his work was little. Allah said: [And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them, and We deprive them of nought of their work. Every man is a pledge for that which he has earned] at-Tour 52:21.

When sayyduna Noah [PBUH] saw that the sky is pouring water as if from skin bags, the earth exploded with water wells, the waves played with the Ark as if it was a feather in the air, and the water almost covered it, he then entreated to Allah by the Prophet Mohammad [PPBUH]. Allah sent Gabriel to him with four dowels of wood on each one written the Arabic letter [Ain]. Sayyduna Noah [PBUH] fixed two in the front and two in the back of the Ark. The water stopped entering the Ark, and it flew around it. The waves stopped playing with the Ark like a feather, i.e. the Ark became stable. Sayyduna Noah [PBUH] was pleased with that, but there was another problem that he did not know how to handle, which was the animal excrements. So sayyduna Noah [PBUH] entreated to Allah again. Allah ordered him to step on the tails of the two elephants. He did and two pigs cam out of the elephants and  ate the animal excrements. Sayyduna Noah [PBUH] was very pleased.

It was narrated that sayyduna Noah [PBUH] wanted to know if the water began to sink off the land. So he sent the crow to find out, but the crow found a carrion, while flying, so it landed on it to eat. The crow was late to get back to sayyduna Noah [PBUH] for days. Sayyduna Noah got angry and asked Allah to punish it, so it became hazy and it can not stay in one place. Sayyduna Noah [PBUH] asked the other birds: Who would get me the news about the water and land and does not do like the crow? The pigeon said: I would get you the news, O prophet of Allah. The pigeon flew for an hour and came back with a green leave in its mouth. When Sayyduna Noah [PBUH] saw it he said: this is a leave from an olive tree. He knew that the land is still covered with water. After a while he sent the pigeon again, and this time it came back, after an hour, with its legs covered with red mud. The reason for that is that the Ka'ba place was the first place to be exposed. It became like a red hill. When the pigeon stood over it, its legs got muddy with that red mud. Sayyduna Noah [PBUH] asked Allah: «O, Allah. Make the pigeons the most blessed of the birds, and make it likable to the people». When the Land dried and the grass grew on it, Allah ordered Noah [PBUH] to set free all the birds on board. When the Ark landed, animals and people got out. Noah the ordered each one of his sons to marry one of the three daughters, [And We made his offspring the survivors] as-Safat 37:77.

This is why sayyduna Noah [PBUH] was called the second father of all humans, not as some people say because he had eighty sons. He was the only prophet with no people because they all drowned. The only people left were his three sons, the four men, and the three girls.

Dervish

Imam fakhreddin was asked: Some people say to us "Do not be dervish", they think that being dervish is something shameful.

The Imam said: Being dervish is better than what they are. The interior of the impoliteness of a dervish is better than the exterior of their politeness. A dervish may dance, look stupid, cry, drum, or play, But ... A man came to the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] wearing shredded cloth, but he was a man of perfect Dhikr. He sat by Him, asked Him, and went away. Then came a very clean man riding a mule, wearing a perfectly clean and decorated cloth, asked the Prophet [PPBUH] a couple of questions, and went away. The companions did not show respect for the first one, but they stood and greeted the second one when he came. The Prophet [PPBUH] asked them afterwards: (What do you think of this and that?) They said: O, Messenger of Allah. This second one, if he asks for a lone, hosting, or even marrying one of our women, we would give him what he wants. The Prophet [PPBUH] said: (So what do you think of the other one?) - He meant the one with the shredded cloth. They said: That one, if he asks for hosting we would show him the Masjid, if he asks for marriage we would not accept him, and if asks for anything we would not give him. The Prophet [PPBUH] said: (Do you know the ranking of this and that with Allah?) They said: Allah and His Messenger know. He said to them: (That one - the one with the shredded cloth - is better than the earth full of the other one).

They asked the Imam: What is the source of the word "dervish".

The Imam said: There is an island in India by the name of "Wish". They get from there the jewels (in Arabic: dur) that they call "Washen". So the meaning of "dervish" is the "Dur" [jewels] that comes from the island of "Wish".

The asker: In Egypt they say that "dervish" means: "dar" (in Arabic means: turned) "Wishu" (in Arabic means: his face). So they mean "turned his face away from the creatures to Allah".

The Imam said: No one can do without the creatures. Even if you go out of town to the desert, is it not creature of Allah too? Of course. If we went to the mountain, is it not creature of Allah too? Everything is a creature of Allah. So how can he turns his face away from creatures? It cannot be done. But the clever one, is the one who block his heart from the notions.

So lets think about that; the important thing is not the superficial look, but the essence. People judge others by their poorness or richness. So the poorer will be less honored and the richer higher. So people will buy their position among others with money, without even considering its source. In fact, a believer should judge others by the way they look, rather by their essence. The Prophet, al-Mostafa [PPBUH] said: (Allah does not look at your pictures or your money, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds) Muslim, al-Bayhaqy, Ibn Habban, as-Seyoti, and its agreed upon.
