'and Reveal to me every concealed secret' (from as-salat adh-Dhatiya).

This is the motto of this section, which is for information and stories from Islam that was either told by great old Moslems or accepted and supported by Islam. It is also for the Sufi rare information told by the people of Allah.

Blessings 2

What does Islam say about getting blessings from our Prophet and his family, the other prophets, the companions and the righteous people?

If we look at the Book of Allah [Qur'an] and the Sunnah of His Messenger Syadna Mohammad [PPBUH], we will find an answer for this...

Blessings from Prophets and Righteous people

About the blessing with the belongings, remnants, and relics of the prophets, Allah [Almighty] says: [And their Prophet (Samuel) said to them: Verily! The sign of His Kingdom is that there shall come to you the coffin (a wooden box) wherein is Sakinah (peace and reassurance) from your Lord and a remnant of that which Moses and Harwn (Aaron) left behind, carried by the angels. Verily, in this is a sign for you if you are indeed believers]. Al Baqarah 2:248.

Al Hafez Bin Kathir, in history, says that ibn Garir said about the coffin: “when they (the fighters) used to fight in a battle, they used to carry the covenant coffin with them. That was in the dome of the time. They used to win because of its blessing and of what has Allah Has put in it; Sakinah and more of the remnant that Moses and Harwn's families have left.

And the things that Moses and Harwn have left behind were: a stick, clothes, their shoes, and two sheets from the Bible. So, look now how and through what the fighters used to win their battles against the enemies!

Al-Hafez said in his book The Start and the End: The fighters used to win against their enemies because of it (the coffin) and that it also had a golden pan that was used for washing prophets' chests.

And  al-Qortuby said: “It was mentioned about the coffin that it was brought down to Adam [PBUH] and it was transferred through prophets until it reached Yacqwb (Jacob) [PBUH], so it stayed with Bani Israel (sons of Jacob; Jews) who used it to win their battles, until they disobeyed Allah, so they lost the coffin, and it was taken from them by the Giants.

Allah [Almighty] said in the chapter of sayydina Yousuf [PBUH]: [Go with this shirt of mine, and cast it over the face of my father, he will become clear-sighted]. Yusuf 12:93.  So, what was the secret behind the shirt of Sayydina Yousuf that made him so sure of the healing of his father? Was it a medicine, or magic? ... of course this is far from Allah's doing. It was all because of the blessing effect of Sayydina Yousuf’s shirt.

Allah also said in the chapter of Maryam, on behalf of Sayydina Issa (Jesus) [PBUH]: [And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salat (prayer), and Zakat (almsgiving), as long as I live]. Maryam 19:31.  If we closely looked at this verse, we find that when he talked about blessing he said [wheresoever I be] which basically means any where and whether alive or dead. And when we talk about the Sharyca obligations, he said [as long as I live] because the Sharyca obligations is only during the worldly life (Dunya).

Abdullah ibn cUmar narrated via Nafficthat people passed with the prophet Mohammad [PPBUH] on the land of Thamud (people of the prophet Saleh; they were doomed to be wiped out for not obeying him) and they filled their drinking flasks from its wells and used the water to make doughs, but Allah’s messenger (Mohammad) [PPBUH] ordered them to spill the water and to feed the doughs to the camels. He told them to get water from the one well that these people's camel (their miracle camel that came out of the rock) used to drink from. {Al Imam Muslim in El-Zohd, and also narrated by El-Nawawy in chapter 8 of the explanation}.

So why were they ordered to water from another well from which the camel used to drink? isn’t it blessing? With whom? With the relics of the blessed camel. And look how our Prophet [PPBUH] ordered his followers to spill the water that they got from the land of Thamud and to go get water from the well that the camel drank from. The wisdom in this situation is that our prophet [PPBUH] is teaching us how to get blessing even from animals that followed the prophets and prohibiting us from getting blessing from those who disbelieved in the prophets even if they were humans. see?

Abdullah ibn cUmar about Sayydina Al-cAbbas narrated: People came to Al-cAbbas to touch him and  be blessed with him and to congratulate him for getting the rain for the people in al-Haramyn (the two Holly Masjids) - (this is referring to the famous story; when people did not have any rain for long time in the time of sayydina cUmar, when sayydina cUmar [AAH] asked al-cAbbas [AAH] to pray for them. so he did and Allah answered his prayers, and they got incredible rain, and they quenched their thirst).

The Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] said: (Do you know that you only become victorious and have sustenance because of your weak people’s prayers and fidelity?), which means it is only because of those weak people’s blessings that you are victorious and have sustenance.

The Messenger of Allah [PPBUH], also said (If it weren't for the women and the children living in the houses, I would have commanded the prayers to be held, and some men would accompany me with piles of sticks to go to those who are not praying with the rest of  us and burn down their houses). That means that it is only because of the blessings of the women and children that these houses were prevented from being burned even in the case of disobeying this great duty (the prayers).

Now can you see the importance of the blessings?
