Those who love one other for Allah

Al-Harith al-Mohasaby said "Love is your total inclination to the beloved. Then, your preferring of your beloved to your self and soul. Then, your concurrence with him in secret and public. Then, your knowing that you are delinquent in his love".

You should know that every intimacy and company will be broken on the judgment day except the intimacy of those who love one another for Allah. They are the ones mentioned in the Hadith that (They will be in the shadow of the Throne while other people are in the heat of the sun. Their light overspread the people in the day of resurrection. Prophets and martyrs will envy them for their rank with Allah). They said: "O, Messenger of Allah who are they? Describe them for us so that we may recognize them". He [PPBUH] said (They are men, from different tribes, gathered on the Dhikr of Allah).

In al-Mowatta' of Imam Malik, from sayydi Mouaz, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah [PPBUH] saying (Allah, Almighty, said: My love is due for those love one another for Me, sit with one another for Me, give away charity for Me, and visit one another for Me). In the narration of Abo-Muslim al-Khoulany; the Prophet [PPBUH] said (Those who love one another for Allah are one pulpits of light and in the shadow of the Throne when there is no shadow but its shadow).

In another Hadith (No two who love one another for Allah, unless Allah would a chair for them to sit on until the reckoning is over). The Prophet [PPBUH] also said (The rooms of those who love one another for Allah, in paradise, are like the rising stars, eastern and western. It would be said: Who are these? They will be answered: those are the one who love one another for Allah, Almighty).

In another narration (In paradise, there are rooms that you can see its outside from inside and its inside from outside. Allah made them for those who love one another for Allah, visit one another for Him, and spend alms for Him).

In another narration (indeed, paradise has column of ruby, above it there are rooms of aquamarine with open doors. These rooms are lightened like the glittering star). We said: Who dwells in it? He [PPBUH] said (Those who love one another for Allah, spend alms for Him, and meet one another for Him. It is written on their faces [Those are the one who love one another for Allah]).

In the traits too: "When the judgment day comes, a caller will call: where are the ones who love one another for Allah? Some people will stand, and they are few. They will go quickly to paradise. The angels will receive them and say: We saw you going quickly to paradise, so who are you? They will say: We are the ones who love one another in Allah. The angels will ask them: what was your loving? They would say: We used to love one another for Allah, be kind to one another for Allah, and spend charity for Allah - Spending charity: includes consoling with giving - They will be told: So enter paradise and what a reward for the workers".

The Love of the servant for his supporter and creator has two reasons:

The first: Is that the look of the servant to the grace of Allah and all the kinds of gifts He gives him. As hearts are created to love whoever would be kind to it. This love is earned because one is covered with the grace of Allah to him, and is able to look into it. The more he sees of the gifts of Allah, Almighty, which are uncountable, the more he gets like a seed planted in his good pure heart. He continues to see Allah's gifts one after one, and each one is greater than the  one before it. As his heart will grow more light and belief along with the gifts he sees and the grace he discovers. He will discover more secrets and his love will be great.

The second: is the revealing of the veils and removing of the barriers from the heart's sight to see the beauty and perfection of the Truth, because beauty is naturally loved.

These are the two reasons that sayyda Rabi'a al-Adawiya [AAH] meant, while she was one of the most famous one who lived and experienced the Devine love. They were totally consumed in it and absolutely vanished from themselves for what they saw of the Truth, what their hearts discovered of His shining lights, and what their souls rose up to the midst of the huge sea that a knower drowns in. So sayyda Rabi'a [AAH] said:

I love You two loves; the love of passion

and the love You deserve it

As for that which is the love of passion

it is my being busy with your Dhikr from anything else

As for that love that You deserve

it is for Your revealing the veils for me to see You

I am not to be thanked for this or that

rather You are to be praised for this and that

She distinguish the love arising from witnessing of the beauty, with the love that is being deserved rather than the other one. While He deserves both of them, but this love is from Him and for Him, the servant has not earned any of it, while the other one has some earning. As the work of the servant in the other love has a reason, that is why she said "my being busy with your Dhikr from anything else", as it is expressing the result for the cause. The original expression is: Its result is "my being busy with your Dhikr from anything else", as it is resulting from the love for ourselves. Her saying "Your revealing the veils for me to see You" is expressing the cause for the result, as it means: because of it is "Your revealing the veils for me to see You" with the eyes of my heart. Her saying "I am not to be thanked" is information from her that both loves are, in fact, from Him, for Him and by Him, and there is no earning by her for either of them in reality. As He is the praising and the praised. Realizing the difference between the two ranks of love, the love arising from witnessing His Grace and the love arising from witnessing His Beauty, is necessary for every taster, and the second one is stronger.

Ibn Gazzy said: You should know that the love of the servant to his Lord is on two levels. One of them is: The common love, that no believer lacks, and it is required. The other one is: The special love, that is exclusive for the divine knowledge people, the saints, and the prophets, and it is the highest of the ranks and the very end of the desired. As all the ranks of the righteous people like: the fear, the hopefulness, the reliance, and others are built on the fortunes of the selves. Do not you see that the fearer is fearing for himself, and the hopper is hoping for a benefit to himself. On the other hand the love is only for the beloved and not for compensation.
