Great Ancestors' Books
Since we are constantly in need for the non-distorted books of our predecessors, and since some irresponsible groups had intentionally or unintentionally printed distorted books and spread them either in the markets or on the internet, there aroused an insisting need to find reliable sources for the books and knowledge of the virtuous predecessors. So, we are nominating to you some sister sites that choose accurately every book they present. This way you can easily find the books and texts of our predecessors which some people tried to hide and conceal, but Allah will complete His guidance, even if biased people dislike. We will mention some of the books, from these sites, that sheikh Fakhr Eldin quoted from in his books and lessons. More information about these sites are in the library page in our main site.
Books of Imam Ibn Kathir:
Interpretation of Ibn Kathir
The
Interpretation of the Great Qur'an known as the Interpretation of Ibn
Kathir
is by Imam Abo-al-Feda' Ismail ibn Omar ibn Kathir, the Qurashian the
Damascusian, known as ibn Kathir, who died 774 H. It is the first edition to
be compared to the Azhar issue and to the complete issue of the great

The
Bigining and End [al-Bedaya
wal-Nehaya]
is by Imam Abo-al-Feda' Ismail ibn Omar ibn Kathir, the Qurashian the
Damascusian, known as ibn Kathir, 701-774 H. In this book the author talks
about the the beginning of creations, starting from the creation of the
Throne, Heavens, Earths, whatever they contained, and whatever between them
of Angels, Jinn, and devils. Then he talks about Adam [PBUH],
the stories of the Prophets, the days of sons of Israel, the days of
Ignorance [before the Prophet], until the prophecy ended with Prophet
Mohammad [PPBUH].
He talks about his life enough to satisfy the longing hearts, then he talks
about the era after the Prophet [PPBUH]
up to the author's time. So he talks about the riots, the fierce battles,
and the the signs of the end of the world. Then he talks about the
resurrection, the judgment day, paradise, and hell. In all that he gives
evidence of Qur'an, Sunna, and traditions. He does not mention Israeli
traditions except what is accepted by the scholars and not contradicting
Qur'an of Allah or Sunna of His Prophet [PPBUH].
He also took from them what details a shortened event or what gives names to
an unnamed that was mentioned in our Shari'a. He mentioned all that as
excess knowledge
The researchers did his best in verifying the Hadith. However in some places in the book he talked about weakness with his own opinion or others'. We say its their opinion and they are not to be blamed for it, but it is not to used, as what we really need is the opinion of the author himself. The book’s link in Al-Turath site

A Selection of brother’s readings:
The Knowledgeable Glorious Scholars
Thanks to Allah who has made the knowledgeable scholars successors to the prophets to inherit their manners and became role models for everyone. Many people got strayed and got away from the guidance of the Beloved [PPBUH] when they did not take the great old knowledgeable scholars of this nation as their source of knowledge, instead they became addicted to taking from the recent simple ones. This way they got away from what their righteous ancestors used to have and what was settled by the Islamic nation for decades and centuries. The Prophet [PPBUH] said: (People are still in blessing as long as they took their knowledge from their knowledgeable elders. When they start taking from their young unknowledgeable ones then they are doomed). The Prophet [PPBUH] also said: (This religion is knowledge, so be careful who to get from). He [PPBUH] also said: (When the knowledgeable scholars die, people will choose their leaders from unknowledgeable ones. When they ask them, they will answer without knowledge, so they will lead astray and mislead everyone, and there is no strength no power but from Allah). sayydi Fakhreddin Mohamed Osman [AAH] said: [If you were asked: What is the book? It is from what is narrated by the great scholars] (qasida 15:47) All scholars agreed that no one can disparage any word from the Prophet [PPBUH] or judge it as being fabricated or weakly narrated, unless he has an absolute proof from Qur'an or Sunna of the Prophet [PPBUH]. From the start of the first century and up until now, great scholars [AAT] have taken the mission of preserving Turath of our true religion [inherited knowledge from the Prophet, His companions, and our great scholars]. They have been preserving it the same way as the Prophet [PPBUH] wanted them to do. That is how the authentic Hadith, true interpretations, and Historical events from the start of Mohammad' Message till our current day, were preserved and predicated honestly and truthfully. One of the main glorious scholars, with a great resume, is:
Imam Ibn Kathir
He is Abo-al-Feda' Ismail ibn Omar ibn Daw' ibn Kathir ibn Zara', the Qurashian the Damascusian, Born in the village of Majdal east of Damascus in the year 700, and died after he lost his sight I Sha'ban of 774 H, while he was 74 years old, in the eighth century of Hijra.
His
roots was form Basra, but he was born and grew up in Damascus. He [AAH]
was raised in a house of knowledge. His father Omar ibn Kathir was the
preacher of the village, and studied on an-Nawawi and al-Fazawi. As ibn
Kathir reached the age of four, His father died and his brother, sheikh
Abdel-Wahab took over the family responsibility. It was on the hands of this
sheikh, his brother, that he started to get his knowledge. When he was five
years old he moved to Damascus. His study was in fields of Fiqh and Hadith
which were the common fields at that time. Ibn Kathir live in state of
Mamalik which extended from Egypt to Sham
Ibn Kathir [AAH] was one of the unique scholars in his era. He was much embraced by the scholars in his era and after that; they said about him: a knowledgeable Hadith scholar and a great historian. He was a listener, a classifier, a skillful fatwa scholar, and had a little activity with poetry. He had a known saying about that: [Days follow in succession by us and we are Driven to our death as we look with our eyes] [It is not coming back that youth, which went away And it is not going away that depressing grey hair] Anyway he was not famous fro poetry. He was the founder of a school which traces still exist up to day. He did not accept the myths and liked to relate to Sunna. He depended on the verification and investigation using his own tool which was the criticism of the narration and relations and examination of the traces. In his interpretation, he was an Imam and a proprietor of a school, as he did not accept Israeli sayings and weak traces. He also disliked philosophizing and using one's thinking and opinion in Qur'an. He preferred to interpret Qur'an with Qur'an then with Hadith then with traces.
Imam ibn Kathir was a student to many of the scholars and sheikhs like: Abo-al-Abbas Ahmed ibn Taimya, Hafiz Abo-al-Haggag Yusuf al-Mazzy, Hafiz Abo-Abdallah Mohamed az-Zahabi, and others up to thirty of the scholars of his era. His writings were, and still are up to this day, a heritage for the Muslims in the science of Qur'an, knowledge of Sunna, principles of Fiqh, history, and virtues. The most important books of his are: Interpretation of the Great Qur'an known as Interpretation of Ibn Kathir and Beginning and End in Seara.
