Prophet Ibrahim [PBUH] 3

The father of Prophets and the second of the four Messengers with Will

When the king and his ministers decided unanimously to burn sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH], it was narrated that sayyidna Abdullah ibn Omar [AAT] said that: the man who advised them to burn Ibrahim was one of Persian Arabs. he was asked: do Persians have Arabs? He answered: Yes, they are the Kurds. It was said that his name was "Hizn" who sunk down into earth and he is still falling and making sounds like a bell under ground until the day of resurrection.

He ordered them to collect firewood and they kept collecting it for a long time, it was said that they kept collecting the for about three months, until it was like a woman would make a vow that she would collect firewood for Ibrahim if her request come true.

After they have collected the wood they set the fire and soon its smokes were growing high and its heat became so stronge that a bird would burn if it passes over it in the sky. So they could not find a way to throw sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH] into the fire. The fire was too strong for anyone to come near. After that, the accursed Lucifer (Satan) came to them in the form of a man and said: I can make  you a catapult to use for throwing Ibrahim into fire.

When they put Ibrahim [PBUH] in the catapult and were about to throw him in fire; the heavens and earth with all what they have of creatures except for the two worlds (humans and jinn) cried and shouted at once saying: Our God and Master! No one worships You on earth but your servant Ibrahim, and he is about to be thrown in the fire, so allow us to support him. Allah, glory be to him said [if he called for help from anyone of you, you should support him, and if he does not ask anyone except me, Then I will be for him].

Then sayyidna Gabriel [PBUH] came to him and said "O, Ibrahim! do you need anything? but sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH] answered "Not from you, I do not". He continued "As for Allah, his knowledge of my condition is sufficient than asking Him" It was also said that he said "O, Allah! you are the One in heavens and the One on  the earth, Allah is Sufficient for me, and He is the Best Agent". These words were said before sayyidna Gabriel [PBUH] came to him offering his help. So Allah glory be to Him said to the fire [O fire, be coolness and peace for Ibrahim] al-Anbiya 21:69. It was said  if the word [coolness]  was not followed by the word [peace], sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH] would have died of its much coolness. It was also said that all fires did put out their flames at that day because they thought that Allah's command was directed for each of them. The fire kept on lit for days, people had no doubt that fire had burnt Ibrahim [PBUH].

It was said, their king saw in a dream that the fire was burning itself, while Ibrahim [PBUH] was sitting into it untouched by it. The king said to his people "I saw Ibrahim alive, so build me an edifice to overlook the fire".

When he looked over the fire, he saw sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH] sitting on a bed with a spring of water next to him and a fruit tree. He was in a pleasant life. The king called out to him: O, Ibrahim! Your God is great as his power and honor has protected you from what I see. Can you come out of fire?". "Yes" said sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH]. "Are you afraid that if you stayed there, it would harm you?" asked the king. "No" said sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH], then he came out of the fire. "I am going to offer an offering to your God for what I saw of His power and honor and what He made for you, when you refused to worship none but him" said the king. "Allah will not accept it from you as long as you are still on your religion" replied sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH]. "O, Ibrahim I cannot leave my kingdom" said the king.

On that day a lot of people became believers when they saw that miracle, and sayyidna Lout [PBUH] believed him. sayyidna Lout [PBUH] is the son of Haran and he is the nephew of sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH], and they had a third brother who was called Nakhur ibn Tarekh who was the father of Batwil. Batwil was the father of Leya and Rahy who were the two wives for sayyidna Jacob [PBUH]. Also sayyda Sarah [AAH] believed sayyidna Ibrahim. She was his cousin, and then his wife.

When the king saw that, he said to Ibrahim [PBUH] "Go out of our land or you will spoil our religion". So sayyidna Ibrahim [PBUH] and those who believed along with him, immigrated to Egypt. At that time the pharaoh of Egypt was called Sannan ibn Elwan, who was fond of women, especially the beautiful ones. He used to marry any woman forcibly if he heard that she is beautiful. Sayyda Sarah was one of the most beautiful women, and she had a very pretty face.

What did Prophet Ibrahim do? And what happened by the Pharaoh of Egypt?

This story is to be continued next issue ISA, to see how Allah, Exalted is He and Blessed, has supported and helped his prophets and chosen ones against their enemies and made them victorious in spite of their enemies' intriguing and slanders. And how Allah perfected His Light and Guidance. Prayers and peace be upon sayydna Mawlana Mohammad, his purified folk of the household, and his companions who were the best.
