Master
of the Martyrs
4
from
the courtyard of Mawlana Imam al-Husain [AAH],
and during the celebration of his
anniversary
Mawlid here in Egypt.
and through the group study of one of the verses of the qasida for
the etiquettes and principles of the visit to the courtyard of
Mawlana Imam al-Husain and what one should feel during such visit.
We continue from his saying [AAH]
[So you have
the beloved of Allah as a well of care
and glances
like throwing arrows]
24/10
The beloved
of Allah: is like the divine love mentioned in the divine
Hadith, by al-Bukhary, from Abo-Huraira, as he said that the
Messenger of Allah said (Indeed Allah said 'whoever becomes enemy
with one of My saints, I wage war upon him. And no one would do
anything to get closer to Me better than fulfilling the obligations
I bestowed on him. Then My slave will continue to get closer to Me,
by doing supererogatory worship, until I love him. When I love him,
I will become his hearing that he hears with, his sight that he sees
with, his hand that he hits with, and his leg that he walks with.
And if he would ask Me, I would give him. And if he would seek
protection from Me, I would protect him. And I would not hesitate in
doing something like I would hesitate in taking his soul, as he
hates to die and I hate to hurt him'). This is the condition of
the one who is loved by Allah. Whoever loves Allah' beloved, then
Allah would loves him. So what do you think about the master of the
saints and the master of the martyrs, indeed Allah's giving to him
will be unlimited. Allah said [And
whoso brings the truth and believes
therein - Such are the dutiful
¤ They shall have what they will with
their Lord; that is the reward of the doers of good]
az-Zumur 39:33-34,
so how about this dignified great one?
a well of
care: a well of care and attention.
glances:
they that it means the look from the side of the ear. and glancing
someone is to look at him from the eye corner - right or left. This
would be like giving care, attention, and light to those he looks
at. You may find that in Qur'an [On
the day when the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women will
say unto the believers: Look on us that we
may borrow from your light!]
al-Hadid 57:13.
That is the saying of the hypocrites on the Judgment Day when they
knew the truth, but it will be too late. As if they had said that in
the worldly life it would have benefited them, the look of the light
and guidance. But they were in doubt and denial. They forgot the
saying of prophet Moses [PBUH]
when he said [I
may bring you an
extract therefrom or may find guidance at the fire]
Taha 20:10.
We say to
whoever wants to understand the words of Allah, you may read Allah's
other verse [And
from the evil of the envier when he envies]
al-Hasad 113:5,
and the saying of the Chosen one, the Prophet [PPBUH]
(An eye would take a man to his grave, and take a camel to the pot).
by ibn Addy, Abo-Na'eim,
al-Khateib, and al-Qada'y.
If this is the
look or glance of envy and grudge supported by the devils and jinn,
so how do you think about those who look or glance with the light of
Allah, Almighty.
If the modern
science proved that the turtle do raise and care for its children by
looking at them, so cannot these saints raise their sons and
followers with these kind of looks.
So the glances
of Imam al-Husain will throw the arrows of light and guidance, may
Allah make us among the ones who receive these glances.
[You
are Ma'in [the running water] for all of the
drinkers,
and the
irrigation springs,
that are sealed with Musk]
24/11
Allah says [A
cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them
¤ White, delicious to the drinkers]
as-Safat 37:45-46.
Ibn Ajeeba [AAH]
said: Ma'in is running wine in rivers clear for the eyes to see. And
the signs of this verse are that they drink the cup of the love. And
their preference is according to how much they drink of the wine of
meanings. The wine of meanings is according how far you can get rid
of the body and worldly senses and how much you can renounce its
pleasures.
When Imam
Fakhreddin [AAH]
says "Ma'in", he means supporting for the life. By this life he
means the real life, i.e. living with the divine attributes (get the
hearing, the sight, ... so on from Allah). Drinking in the Sufi
expression, means the middle state of witnessing and tasting, while
the quenching is the last state of it. Which is also what Imam
Mohyeddin said. Imam at-Tawsy said: the drinking is the receiving of
the pure souls to the generous gifts and their enjoying of that,
i.e. enjoying what comes to the heart from the lights of the
witnessing of the closeness of his Lord and Master. Ashibany said
that drinking is understanding.
Because Imam
al-Husain is a master and a chief, the saints call him the master of
gifts. And as we said last issue; the Beloved Chosen Prophet [PPBUH]
said (Husain is from me, and I am from Husain), so if the
giving is from his hands and the entering to the Beloved [PPBUH]
is through his door [AAH],
then this is a sign from the bloved [PPBUH]
for us, as all masters of Sufism and their seekers agreed, that he
is the greatest port for all seekers and path walkers. And we are
ordered to follow them and believe them. Allah said [O
ye who believe! Fear Allah and be with those who are true]
at-Tawba 9:119,
He also said [Say:
This is my Way: I call on Allah with sure insight.
I and whosoever followeth me and
glory be to Allah! and I am not one
of the polytheists]
Yusuf 12:108.
Those are the people of the insights, and we have to follow them.
So it is as if
Imam Fakhreddin is saying: Imam al-Husain supports all the drinkers
with the spiritual witnessing of the wine of meanings, which does
not cause the minds to be absent, rather one would be in total
presence with his Master, and getting closer to his Lord with the
witnessing of the Beloved [PPBUH],
which is a property of the Prophet [PPBUH]
that he gave especially to Mawlana Imam al-Husain when he said (and
I am from Husain). So he is the Ma'in for the drinkers and he is
also the
irrigation
springs. Allah says [Lo!
those who are pious are
in gardens and watersprings]
al-Hijr 15:45.
Ibn Ageeba says
about the signs of this verse: that this is not attainable except by
submission to the people of light, in order to take us to light of
lights, so as to be part of it immersed in the sea of light.
end of ibn Ageeba's word.
So he is irrigation springs that the hearts gets quenched from, also
the souls and even the minds. Springs that are flooded with the wine
of meanings and eternal love and is sealed with Musk. Allah said [The
seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have
aspirations]
al-Mutaffefin 83:26,
which is a sweet smell. Imam Mohyeddin said about it; that it is the
seal of the Shari'a that controls the Sufis and it is the judgment
of the Shari'a about the permitted things that are pleasant for the
souls and enforces the hearts. [And
for this]
i.e. for the drinking of the wine of pure spiritual love that is
limited by the boundaries of Shari'a and its pure taste. [let
those aspire, who have aspirations]
to reach out and get this knowledge, that divine wine, and the
spiritual love. And good for those who got quenched from these
springs, may Allah makes us among them. Amen.
